A warm welcome awaits you at the historic Strand Hotel, Omeath approximately half way between Dublin and Belfast. Since it was built in the 1840's as the Station House for the Great Northern Rail, the Strand Hotel has hosted many of Ireland's famous revolutionaries such as Eoin MacNeill and William and Padraig Pearse. The original Gaelteach area was also home to the Carlingford to Holyhead Steamline with the Strand Hotel at the centre of the activity of the route to England.

Situated on the shores of the beautiful Carlingford Lough only 8 miles from Newry and 5 miles from Carlingford on the Newry-Greenore Corridor, the Strand Hotel is perfectly situated for cycling or walking in the Mourne Mountains and with many other activities such as golfing, horse riding, adventure sports and the Lough Cruise all on it's doorstep, the Strand Hotel is the ideal spot to cater for the whole families' needs.

The hotel has been in the ownership of William Largey for the past 40 years and William and his team will ensure that you have a magical stay in the Cooley Peninsula - home of myths and legends.
